Social Justice: Decolonization, Indigenization, and Anti-Oppression

Description

Engaging community members or any learner requires an inclusive approach. This course considers the role of the arts in tackling active social issues, and the incorporation of anti-oppression practices as a facilitator. Students will complete anti-oppression training (including considerations of race, gender, sexuality, age, background, creed, faith, and heritage) and apply that training to their practice. Particular emphasis will be on decolonization through emphasis on engagement with Indigenous communities and artists.
